Londoner killed in early-morning Hwy. 401 crash in Elgin County

A section of Highway 401 is closed Friday after a Londoner was killed in an early-morning crash near Dutton-Dunwich.
Emergency crews were called to Currie Road at around 3:30 a.m., said provincial police in Elgin County. The crash involved a passenger vehicle driving east in the westbound lanes of the highway, and colliding with a commercial motor vehicle.
The driver of the car, a 25-year-old from London, was taken to hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck wasn't injured.
The identity of the person killed will not be released out of respect for the family's privacy, police said.
Highway 401 westbound lanes at Currie Road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time to allow for investigation.
