Hyderabad’s open cultural space, Lamakaan, is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary with a three-day celebration from Friday, January 17, to Sunday, January 19. The event promises a diverse lineup of music, talks, and performances.
The festivities kick off on Friday evening with Untamed Baataan, a conversation between Zaynab Ali and Anuj Gurwara at 6 p.m. The session will be followed by Khumar, a ghazal recital by Adnan Salem at 8 p.m., featuring the poetry of Khumar Barabankvi.
Saturday, January 18, begins with the play Hashiye Zindagi Ke at 11 a.m., exploring the margins of life. The day continues with a Kathak dance performance at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., the focus shifts to the golden era of Indian music with a talk and song session on legendary playback singer Talat Mahmood.
The concluding day, Sunday, January 19, opens with a classical music concert by Aradhana Karhade at 11 a.m. The evening schedule includes the launch of a book 1948 Hyderabad Readings at 6 p.m., providing historical insights into the city’s past.
