Labour Minister inaugurates ITI at Kamuthi

Minister inaugurates ITI in Ramanathapuram district, emphasizing job opportunities and government job placements for students.
Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development C.V. Ganesan inaugurated an Industrial Training Institute at Kamuthi in Ramanathapuram district on Wednesday.
On the same day, about 10 ITIs at a cost of Rs.111 crores were inaugurated in 10 districts. Ramanathapuram ITI, which was one of them, was believed to train and provide job opportunities to the youngsters of the district, Mr. Ganesan said.
“In the last three years, 23 new government ITIs were started in the State. Through this, more than 13,000 students have benefitted,” he added.
Further, about 90% of the students trained at government ITIs were getting government jobs. Through this, the training centres are ensuring that 90% of the students are getting placed in companies towards the end of their training, he said.
“As the syllabus taught at the training centres were based on the requirements for Industry 4.0, the students would go out with a knowledge, good enough to be placed in any of the top industries,” Mr. Ganesan added.
Ramanathapuram MLA Kadarbatcha Muthuramalingam, district Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon, Director of Employment and Training B. Vishnu Chandran, Secretary for Labour Welfare and Skill Development Department K. Veera Raghava Rao, among others were present during the event.
