Within 24 hours of Telangana High Court dismissing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao’s plea to quash Anti Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) case against him over Formula E Race funds misappropriation case, he moved High Court again on Wednesday (January 8, 2025) to permit presence of his advocate during questioning by ACB officials in the case.
The former Minister moved a lunch motion before the bench of Justice K. Lakshman seeking a direction to ACB’s Central Investigation Unit investigating the Formula E Race case to allow his advocate to accompany him during the questioning. The ACB had issued notices to KTR earlier to appear before it on Thursday (January 9, 2025) for interrogation in the case.
A day ahead of the appearance before investigators, the former Minister facing charges of making foreign remittances (from HMDA funds) to conduct car races in Hyderabad without securing mandatory permissions from the Finance department and the foreign exchange regulatory agencies, KTR’s counsel made a mention of the lunch motion before Justice K. Lakshman. The judge agreed to hear the plea after the lunch break.
