A SpiceJet flight from Chennai to Kochi which departed early on Monday (December 9, 2024) returned to the city airport and made an emergency landing due to a technical glitch. “All the protocols were followed when the aircraft landed, and the passengers reached the terminal safely. The flight may leave sometime in the evening,” an official said.
The flight with nearly 75 passengers which left at 6.15 a.m. from Chennai airport came back half an hour later as the pilot detected a technical snag, sources said.
A SpiceJet spokesperson said, “On December 9, 2024, SpiceJet Q400 aircraft operating from Chennai to Kochi returned to Chennai due to a technical issue. The aircraft landed safely and the passengers were deplaned normally.”

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
