TPCC working president blames Union Ministers for Telangana's failures, questions lack of infrastructure projects by BJP.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president T. Jagga Reddy blamed Union Ministers from Telangana — Bandi Sanjay and G. Kishan Reddy for failing Telangana and said Telangana was seeing them as weak Ministers.
At a press conference here, he said that unlike the BJP Ministers the Congress government and its leaders can showcase several infrastructure projects like the Outer Ring Road, Metro Rail, Airport and IIT among others when the UPA was in power. “Can the BJP Ministers show one such infrastructure project,” he asked.
Mr. Jagga Reddy said if Telangana enjoys ₹3 lakh crore budget, it was the contribution of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre that sanctioned projects that spurred economic growth. He said Telangana lost a lot with former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao not maintaining cordial relations with the Centre and the same treatment continues despite the best efforts of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy now.
He ridiculed the BJP leaders’ claims that lakhs of crores were contributed to Telangana and said they were just mentioning the funds that would naturally come to the State due to the devolution of central funds to all the States.
“Is there any project that BJP sanctioned to Telangana or the Union Ministers specifically secured lobbying with the Centre,” he asked. “Let them at least get the ITIR project sanctioned by the UPA government.”
Terming the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday as a mixed bag with a special focus on the middle class and the state of Bihar, Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI), a body of traders and industrialists, expressed its displeasure by stating that the budget did not consider the major demands from Kalyana Karnataka region.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and, IT, BT Priyank Kharge has said that flat-floor factories with plug and play facilities would be set up beyond Bengaluru in places like Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi and Mysuru and an announcement in this regard would be made in the forthcoming budget.
