Annual Nagoba Jatara in Keslapur village in Adilabad of Telangana, attracts Mesram clan Adivasis for religious rituals and worship of serpent deity.
Keslapur village in the tribal heartland of Adilabad district in Telangana turned into a beehive of religious activity as hordes of Mesram clan Raj Gonds and Pardhans gathered in the village to worship Nagoba, the serpent deity, on the inaugural day of the eight-day Nagoba Jatara late on Tuesday (January 28) night.
The annual tribal fair got off to a devotional start with Mesram clan Adivasis worshipping the earth and performing a host of initiatory rituals as per their age-old customs under the sacred banyan tree followed by “Maha Puja” at the famous Nagoba temple late on Tuesday night.
The district police have made elaborate security arrangements in and around Keslapur to ensure smooth conduct of the mega pilgrimage event of Mesram clan Adivasis. Around 600 police personnel were been deployed for the Nagoba Jatara bandobust duty.
