The AAP supremo said the Economically Weaker Section housing provided by the Delhi government at affordable rates and easy instalments would also be made available to these staff members
With less than a week for the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday (January 30, 2025) announced seven promises for staff, including house helps, working with government officers, MPs, and Ministers, including a servant/staff registration portal for jobs, staff hostels, legal protection on wages and working hours, mobile mohalla clinics, and access to essential welfare schemes.
“Their existence is highly temporary. They live with constant anxiety about whether they will have work for the next two or three years. Their lives have no stability, and when they are forced onto the streets, the future of their children is also in jeopardy. Where will they live? What will happen to them? These are serious concerns,” Mr. Kejriwal told a press conference.
He said EWS (Economically Weaker Section) housing provided by the Delhi government at affordable rates and easy instalments would also be made available to these staff members.
“The benefits recently announced for auto drivers, e-rickshaw drivers, and taxi drivers — ₹10 lakh life insurance, ₹5 lakh health insurance, ₹1 lakh financial assistance for a daughter’s wedding, and scholarships for children’s education — will also be extended to servants/staff,” he said.
“Regulations regarding working hours, salaries, and working conditions will be established. This will be made a criminal offence, meaning anyone violating these laws will face legal action,” he added.
Mr. Kejriwal reiterated that people should not vote for the Congress as it would only help the BJP.
