The Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy is set to host an exhibition and sale of unique artworks titled ‘A Work of Art for Every Home’ from January 18 to 21 at Chitra Kala Parishath (CKP) in Bengaluru. This initiative aims to democratise art by showcasing approximately 600 artworks from hundreds of artists, offering a diverse range of styles and media at accessible price points.
“Art speaks a language that words often cannot,” said P. S. Kumar, president of Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy. “Having a piece of art in our homes not only enhances the aesthetics, but also nourishes our sensitivity and taste every day.” He acknowledged the challenges faced by art enthusiasts in accessing and affording art, emphasising the exhibition’s goal to bridge this gap by making quality artworks accessible to a wider audience.
Registrar B. Neelamma highlighted the broader vision of the event, stating, “Our goal is to bring the art heritage of Karnataka to a wider audience. This programme aims to create a meaningful connection between artists and art enthusiasts, fostering a culture of appreciation and support for the arts.”
With prices ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹30,000, the exhibition ensures accessibility for art enthusiasts from all walks of life.
