Karnataka: Five students injured after their bus topples near Gangavathi in Koppal

Five school children suffered minor injuries in a bus accident near Pragati Nagar, Gangavathi; students were on educational tour to Hampi.
Five school children sustained minor injuries after the bus they were travelling in slid off the road near Pragati Nagar, about 9 km northwest of Gangavathi in Koppal district early on Thursday (November 28, 2024).
There were 60 students and a few teachers in the bus. They were on an educational tour to the World Heritage Site of Hampi in Vijyanagara district.
Speaking to The Hindu, Siddanagouda Patil, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gangavathi, said that the bus toppled after the driver lost control.
“The incident happened around 4 a.m. Five students sustained minor injuries. We have made alternative arrangement for their travel back to their native place Gurumitkal in Yadgir district,” Mr. Patil said.
