The Karnataka government announced measures to boost the Kannada film industry, including capping ticket prices and developing a film city
The Karnataka government, in its budget for the year 2025-26, announced that the cost of the ticket of each show in all theatres of the State, including multiplexes, will be capped at ₹200.

The State will also develop a multiplex movie theatre complex under Public Private Partnership (PPP) on 2.5-acre land owned by the Karnataka Film Academy in Nandini Layout, Bengaluru.
CM Siddaramaiah said that an OTT platform will also be created by the State government to promote Kannada movies.
For the development of an international-level film city in Mysuru at the cost of ₹500 crore in PPP model, 150 acre land has been transferred to Department of Information and Public Relations.

The cinema sector will be given the status of an industry and the facilities provided under the Industrial Policy will be extended to the cinema industry by the State government.
