Students in Karaikal participate in mural painting competition to promote voter awareness, showcasing importance of voting through creative wall art.
With a view to promoting voter awareness, students from various colleges in Karaikal participated in a mural painting competition held at Government General Hospital’s maternity ward.
The event, organised by Karaikal District Election Department as part of National Voters’ Day celebration, was conducted under the guidance of Collector (in-charge) A. Kulothungan.
Students, divided into 25 teams of two, showcased their talents by creating wall arts that highlighted the importance of voting. The paintings featured messages such as “Your Vote, Your Future,” “Your Vote, Your Voice,” and “My Vote is Not for Sale.”
“The aim of the competition is to encourage young people to exercise their right to vote and to understand the importance of their participation in the democratic process,” said Mr. Kulothungan.
The judges will select the winning teams, who will be awarded prizes on January 25, during the official National Voters’ Day celebrations. The murals will remain on display at the hospital as a tribute to the students’ commitment to voter awareness.
