JSP corporator alleges irregularities in battery vehicle operation on Kailasagiri Hill, submits representation to VMRDA Commissioner.
Corporator from Jana Sena Party (JSP) P.L.V.N. Murthy has alleged irregularities in the battery vehicles operation and maintenance on Kailasagiri Hill in the city. He has submitted a representation to the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) Commissioner on the issue here on Saturday.
In his letter, Mr Murthy alleged that a private person with the help of some officials of the VMRDA is operating the battery-operated vehicles on the tourist hill. The private operator has been paying only ₹10,000 per month to VMRDA, but how much amount is being generated through the vehicles per month is not known. The corporator also alleged that the allotment of the vehicles was given without any tender notice.
The JSP leader also alleged “With the help of some political representatives and VMRDA officials, some private persons have set up shops on the hill. These activities have been affecting the revenue of the VMRDA.”
