Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren expands Cabinet with 11 Ministers, including 6 from JMM, 4 from Congress, and 1 from RJD.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday (December 5, 2024) expanded his Cabinet with 11 Ministers. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath in a swearing-in-ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Ranchi.
Six from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), four from Congress and one from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have been inducted in the Cabinet of Mr. Soren.
From JMM quota, six MLAs took oath at the event organised at Ashok Udyaan includes Chaibasa MLA Deepak Birua, Ghatsila MLA Ramdas Soren, Giridih MLA Sudivya Kumar , Bishunpur MLA Chamra Linda, Gomia MLA Yogendra Prasad and Madhupur MLA Hafizul Hasan.
From Congress quota, Mahgama MLA Deepika Pandey Singh, Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari, Chhatrapur MLA Radhakrishna Kishore and Mandar MLA Shilpi Neha Tirkey are now part of the cabinet.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) which won four seats got one ministerial berth in their quota. Three-term MLA from Godda assembly constituency Sanjay Prasad Yadav took oath as cabinet minister. He became MLA by defeating Amit Mandal of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya had already announced that CPI (ML)L will not be part of the cabinet.
In the Jharkhand election, out of 81 assembly seats, JMM led INDIA bloc won 56 seats whereas National Democratic Alliance (NDA) only secured 24 seats, lower than it had got in the last assembly election. JMM won 34 seats whereas Congress 16, RJD 4 seats and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation 2 seats.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
