Jeevanji Deepthi from Telangana to get Arjuna Award for outstanding performance

Para athlete Jeevanji Deepthi from Telangana wins Arjuna Award. She won bronze medal in Paris Paralympics 2024.
A para athlete from Telangana, Jeevanji Deepthi, has been selected for Arjuna Award for outstanding performance in sports and games in 2024. Ms. Deepthi won a bronze medal in the women’s 400m T20 category race in the Paris Paralympics in September, 2024. The T20 category is meant for athletes with intellectual impairment.
Sportspersons, coaches who won Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, Arjuna Awards for outstanding performance in Sports and Games, Arjuna Awards (Lifetime) for outstanding performance in Sports and Games, Dronacharya Award for outstanding coaches in Sports and Games, Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar and others for the year 2024 were announced by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports on Thursday (January 2, 2025). Ms. Deepthi was one among the 32 sportspersons who won the Arjuna Awards for the year.
“‘Arjuna Award for outstanding performance in Sports and Games’ is given for good performance over a period of the previous four years and for showing qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and a sense of discipline,” as per a press release.
Appreciating her performance, Telangana government in September last year announced Group-II job, ₹1 crore reward, and 500 square yards of land in Warangal for Ms. Deepthi.
