CPI district secretary criticises Union Budget 2025-26 as deceptive, protests against lack of funds for Andhra Pradesh.
Communist Party of India (CPI) district secretary M. Paidiraju has termed the Budget 2025-26 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as jugglery of figures.
The CPI on Saturday night staged a demonstration at the Visakhapatnam railway station protesting against the injustice meted out to the State, and particularly North Andhra, in the Union Budget.
Mr. Paidiraju said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his election campaign in Visakhapatnam, assured railway zone and had even laid foundation for the same after coming to power. However, funds were not allocated in the Budget for it, he said.
Mr. Paidiraju said the non-allocation of funds for fulfilling the promises made under the A.P. Reorganisation Act amounted to deceiving the people of the State. He alleged that the TDP and the JSP have failed to prevail upon the Centre and get adequate funds for the State.
