Indian Constitution a model to others, says V. Sunil Kumar

The Constitution drafted by B.R. Ambedkar is a model to the world, Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada and Minister for Energy, Kannada and Culture V Sunil Kumar said here on Thursday.
Speaking at the Ambedkar Jayanthi celebration organised by the district administration, the minister said that the Constitution has strengthened the Indian democracy.
The Union government has honoured late Ambedkar now by developing the “Pancha Tirthas” in his memory. The five development projects comprised development of his birth place, development of the place in London where he got educated, converting his official home in Delhi as a museum, developing the place in Nagpur where he embraced Buddhism and development of the place where he was cremated.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, Deputy Commissioner K.V. Rajendra, Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyasa Kamath and others spoke at the occasion.
Speaking at the Ambedkar Jayanthi celebration in Udupi, S. Angara, Minister in-charge of Udupi and Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport said that the Constitution written by Ambedkar is still relevant.
He wrote the Constitution keeping the interest of every Indian and the country in mind, he said. The thoughts of Ambedkar should be adopted in life, Mr. Angara said.
