Heart Hospital urges public to take control of their health

Doha: Under the global theme, "Use Heart to Beat," the Heart Hospital (HH) at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) observes World Heart Day by educating the public on recognizing the signs and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and providing advice on how to prevent or reduce the risk of this disease. Also, providing them with tips on how to improve their heart health by doing regular check-ups and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally, they are accountable for nearly half of all non-communicable diseases’ deaths, making CVDs the world's number one killer. Statistics recently released by World Health Organization show that an estimated 17.9 million people died from CVDs in 2019, representing 32percent of all global deaths. Of these deaths, 85percent were due to heart attack and stroke.
