Telangana High Court dismisses actor Mohan Babu's bail plea in assault case against journalist, leading to investigation.
Justice K. Lakshman of Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed the criminal petition of actor Manchu Mohan Babu seeking anticipatory bail in the criminal case of assaulting TV journalist Muppidi Ranjit.
An ‘attempt to murder’ case was registered against the actor after the journalist lodged a complaint with Pahadisharieff police of Rachakonda. Mr. Ranjit accused the actor of inflicting bleeding injury on him when he went to his farmhouse at Jalpally seeking his response over the rift between the actor and his younger son Manoj. The journalist was admitted to a private hospital after sustaining the wound. As his zygomatic bone got fractured, he underwent a surgery. The actor met the journalist while he was recuperating at the hospital and offered apology regretting his action.
However, he moved the HC seeking anticipatory bail as the police were proceeding with the investigation into the attempt to murder case.
