Haryana BJP president issues show-cause notice to minister for making remarks against party leaders, demands resignation.
Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Mohan Lal Badoli on Monday (February 10, 2025) issued a show-cause notice to Transport and Energy Minister Anil Vij for publicly making remarks against him and Chief Minister Nayab Saini.
“It is a serious charge and is against the party’s policy and internal discipline”, read the notice. “Your move is not only against the ideology of the party, but it also came at a time when the party was campaigning for election in a neighbouring State. Holding a respected ministerial position, you made these statements during the election, knowing that such statements will harm the image of the party. It is completely unacceptable,” said the letter.
Mr. Vij has been told to reply within three days.
In an indirect attack on Chief Minister Nayab Saini, Mr. Vij had accused him of a conspiracy to defeat him in the last Assembly poll by supporting the rival candidate and Congress rebel Chitra Sarwara.
On completion of 100 days of the BJP’s new government in Haryana, Mr. Vij had taken a dig at the Chief Minister for allegedly losing connection with the masses saying “Nayab Saini has been on an udan khatola (helicopter) ever since he became the Chief Minister”.
Mr. Vij had also demanded resignation from Mr. Badoli after a rape case was registered against him at Himachal Pradesh last month.
