Hamad Medical Corporation surgeons perform 12 life-saving kidney and liver transplant surgeries

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) transplant and organ donation teams performed 10 kidney transplants and two liver transplants over a 10-day period this month.

Of the 10 kidney transplants, seven of the patients were Qataris and of these, three were recipients of donations from their relatives. The two liver transplants were from deceased donors. Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari last week visited some of the patients who received the donor organs and lauded the teams involved in the life-saving procedures.
