TDP MLA Dhulipalla Narendra and Minister Nadendla Manohar express shock over tragic road accident, promise government support.
Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Dhulipalla Narendra of Ponnuru Assembly Constituency expressed deep shock over the tragic road accident in Guntur district that claimed the lives of three agricultural workers and left seven others injured, on Monday (February 17, 2025).
Visiting the injured at Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH), he assured them of government support and urged hospital authorities to expedite the post-mortem process to hand over the bodies to the bereaved families without delay.
Mr. Dhulipalla Narendra emphasised that the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh stands firmly with the victims’ families and will provide ex gratia compensation. He also reiterated the long-pending demand to upgrade the Budampadu-Ponnuru road into a National Highway, citing the frequent accidents on this stretch.
He noted that despite widening the road from 7 to 10 metres to ease congestion, heavy traffic continues, with around 22,000 vehicles passing through every day. He added that the road connects to NH 214-A via Ponnuru and Bapatla. The MLA stated that Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar and Bapatla MP are actively working to push for the road’s National Highway status to enhance safety and traffic management.
Meanwhile, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar expressed deep shock over the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of three women agricultural workers. Terming the incident unfortunate, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
The Minister directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best medical care at Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH). He assured that the government would stand by the affected families and provide necessary support.
