
Folk singer Gururaj Hoskote selected for Bidari Award

Gururaj Hoskote has been conferred with Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, Kempegowda award, Netaji award, Bengaluru Ratna award, Janapada Kala Nidhi award and Janapada Gayaka Ratna.
Kannada actor and folk singer Gururaj Hoskote has been selected for the Bidari Endowment Award by the Bidar District Samskrutika Vedike.
The award carries a purse of ₹15,000 in cash and a citation. It will be presented to Mr. Hoskote during the two-day Bidari Utsav 2024 to be held from December 14.
Samskrutika Vedika president Rekha A. Sowdi said that the Bidari Endowment Award was hosting the fourth edition of the event this year. The first year’s award was presented to musician Pt. Vaikkuntadatta Maharaj in 2021. Raichur-based clarinet player Narasimhalu Vadavati was awarded with Bidari award in 2022. Playback singer Lata Hamsalekha was conferred the award in 2023.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
