
Focus on people’s welfare, govt. will ensure yours: T.N. CM Stalin to newly recruited medical officers

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday (February 26, 2025) called upon newly recruited doctors to focus on the welfare of people and said in turn, his government would ensure the welfare of doctors.

He distributed appointment orders to 2,642 medical officers selected by the Medical Services Recruitment Board.
Underlining the steps taken by the DMK government for the welfare of people of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Stalin said the medical infrastructure played a crucial role in ensuring this, and added: “Your role as doctors plays a key role in utilising it.”
“Your service is no ordinary job; it save the lives of people. It is a great service to society,” Mr. Stalin said. Assuring the government’s support to the new recruits, the CM added: “The Dravidian model of governance will ensure your welfare.”
Health Minister Ma. Subramanian; Chennai South MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian; legislators J.M.H. Aassan Maulaana; and senior officials were present on the occasion.
In a separate event at the Secretariat, the CM handed over financial assistance to recipients on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram. He handed over Porkizhi cash award of ₹1 lakh each to 10 senior Kalaimamani awardees, currently living in indigent circumstances, and also launched the distribution of the one-time family maintenance grant of ₹25,000 to the families of 20 deceased artistes.
Under the initiative to provide grants for the publication of rare books on arts, he launched the distribution of grants of ₹2 lakh each to five authors. The CM also launched the distribution of grants for the production of new plays and dance performances to the tune of ₹1.5 lakh each to five theatre troupes and ₹1.5 lakh each to five dance troupes. Minister M.P. Saminathan and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
