Fire near Suez India's overhead tank in Pullukkadu extinguished after two hours, causing discomfort to nearby residents.
A fire was reported near an overhead tank at Pullukkadu near Ukkdam on Thursday afternoon. The Fire and Rescue Services said the control room received an alert at 2.15 p.m. Fire brigades headed by Assistant District Fire Officer G. Ramachandran rushed to the spot with three fire tenders. The fire was put out after two hours, said an official from Coimbatore South Fire Office. Meanwhile, people from the nearby residential areas complained that the dark-thick smoke that billowed from the fire caused discomfort to them.
