BRS MLC K. Kavitha criticizes Congress government for anti-farmer policies, demands unconditional support under Rythu Bharosa scheme.
BRS MLC K. Kavitha criticised the Congress government led by A. Revanth Reddy of adopting anti-farmer policies and backtracking on election promises. She described the Congress government’s reported attempt to implement Rythu Bharosa scheme with conditions as an affront to the dignity and hard work of farmers.
Speaking to a gathering of party leaders and workers at Bodhan town on Thursday, Ms. Kavitha emphasised the plight of farmers, calling them the “backbone of the nation” who deserve unconditional support under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. She demanded immediate action to release Rythu Bharosa funds without delay. “What is the need to file applications to get the benefits? These conditions are cruel and humiliating,” she asserted.
The former MP from Nizamabad lambasted the Congress for failing to fulfil key election promises, including financial aid for women and the distribution of scooters for girls. Highlighting the public’s growing discontent, she pointed out that the Congress government has already encountered significant anti-incumbency sentiments within its first year in office. Ms. Kavitha, the daughter of BRS president and former chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, warned that the Congress’ anti-farmer stance would cost them dearly in the upcoming local body elections. Urging party cadres to gear up for a decisive electoral victory, she declared, “The Congress has betrayed the trust of the people, but the BRS flag will fly high.”
