Ex-MLA Khadri takes charge as HESCOM chairman

Mr. Khadri, who had contested as independent candidate in Shiggaon byelection, was later placated by senior Congress leaders to withdraw from the contest with an assurance that he would be given a suitable position soon.
On Friday, Mr. Khadri took charge in the presence of Ministers Satish Jarkiholi, Zameer Ahmed Khan and district-in-charge Minister for Haveri Shivanand Patil. The event was also attended by newly-elected Shiggaon MLA Yaseer Ahmed Khan Pathan, Chairman of Slum Development Board Prasad Abbayya and Hangal MLA Srinivas Mane.
Speaking to presspersons later, Mr. Khadri said that he would work for the improvement of HESCOM and proper implementation of the welfare schemes of the government. He said he would visit all the districts under HESCOM to learn more about the real problems of the people with regard to power supply and infrastructure.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
