This is the second time since the 2021 Assembly elections that the Erode East seat has fallen vacant. Congress member Thirumahan Everaa won the seat in 2021. Following his death and eventual bypoll, his father Mr. Elangovan was elected from the same seat.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department.
