Enforcement Directorate team attacked during cyber fraud money laundering case search, FIR filed, situation under control.
An Enforcement Directorate team undertaking searches in a cyber fraud-linked money laundering case was allegedly attacked in on Thursday (November 28, 2024), officials said.
The federal agency has registered a police FIR about the incident that took place in the Bijwasan area of the national capital.
The probe pertains to a case against the PPPYL cyber app fraud.
The alleged accused in the case, including Ashok Sharma and his brother, allegedly attacked the ED team. An FIR has been filed and situation is under control, sources said.
One Additional Director of ED was injured in the incident, according to ANI.
The ED released a statment that said: “The Enforcement Directorate’s High-Intensity Unit (HIU) launched extensive searches today targeting top chartered accountants allegedly linked to a massive cybercrime network operating across India. The raids follow an investigation that uncovered the laundering of illicit funds generated from thousands of cybercrimes, including phishing scams, QR code fraud, and part-time job scams
