Male elephant trapped in septic tank in Kerala village, rescue efforts underway by forest officials.
A male elephant fell into an old unused septic tank at Palappilly village, near Chalakudy, in Thrissur district of Kerala on Thursday (December 5, 2024) morning, forest officials said.
The incident occurred around 8.30 a.m. and efforts are on to rescue the pachyderm, a senior forest official said.
The trapped elephant was part of a herd which was pushed back into the forest. Rescue efforts have commenced, the official said.
