Dr Al Marri elected President of Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions

Doha: The 17th General Assembly of the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions has elected H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, as President of the Network in its 2021-22 session, and the National Human Rights Committee in Mauritania was chosen to assume the presidency of the Arab Network in its 18th session for the year 2022-23.
In his opening speech to the General Assembly of the Network, Dr. Al Marri thanked the Independent Commission for Human Rights in Palestine for their appreciated efforts during their presidency, stressing on the completion and advancement of the Arab Networks march during its term as president, and the Networks continued provision of the required support to the Palestinian Commission to end occupation and the promotion and protection of human rights in Palestine. Dr. Al Marri said, that after ten years since the establishment of the Arab Network, with diligent work and fruitful cooperation between member institutions and partners, the role of the network crystallised as well as the extent of its effectiveness, and its response to the needs of national institutions in various fields, from international, technical, legal, logistical and scientific support, building and raising capacities.More Related News
