TTV Dhinakaran criticizes DMK government for closing Amma pharmacies and forcing cooperative societies to open Mudhalvar pharmacies.
AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Sunday (February 9, 2025) criticised the DMK government for reportedly closing down Amma pharmacies and forcing cooperative societies to open Mudhalvar pharmacies.
He cited media reports that said cooperative societies that were already facing financial crunch, were being forced to open Mudhalvar pharmacies.
Referring to the launch of Amma pharmacies during the erstwhile AIADMK regime under Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in 2014, Mr. Dhinakaran in a social media post, criticised the DMK government’s move and termed it an act of political vendetta.
Workers in Amma pharmacies were unable to meet the expenses incurred due to salaries and electricity charge, among others, Mr. Dhinakaran said adding that forcing them to open Mudhalvar pharmacies would make them totally defunct.
