Tamil Nadu NCC cadets excel at Republic Day camp, honored by Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin in Chennai.
Cadets from the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar (TN, P & AN) NCC Directorate, secured laurels in various competitions held during the Republic Day camp in New Delhi that concluded recently. Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Tuesday felicitated cadets in Chennai on Tuesday.
Addressing the cadets, the Deputy CM said the State was proud that the Directorate stood third country in the Republic Day camp. The felicitation was also to acknowledge the cadets’ hard work, dedication, unwavering spirit that truly reflected the values of discipline, leadership and patriotism, he said.
Commodore S. Raghav, Deputy Director General, TN, P & AN Directorate, thanked the Tamil Nadu government for supporting the air travel of the contingent to New Delhi to take part in the Republic Day camp, for the first time.
NC I Aishwarya S. Menon, who stood first in the Senior Wing - Navy category, received a cash prize of ₹10,000. Sgt. Bhavin Kolla and POC S.B. Shardul, who stood first in Junior Division - Army and Junior Division - Navy categories respectively, received a cash prize of ₹10,000 each.
NC I Kevin V. George and Cdt. Sgt. Amrith Roshaan A, who received the second prize in Senior Division - Navy and Junior Division - Air Force categories, received a cash prize of ₹6,000 each. Nine cadets, who stood first in the best cadet competition, received a collective cash prize of ₹13,500.
The 28 cadets of the marching contingent on Kartavya Path that stood first, received a cash prize of ₹42,000. The 35-member cultural troupe that secured the second prize, received ₹35,000. The 50 cadets, who were part of the PM rally that secured third position, received a cash prize of ₹37,500.
The two-member team that won the first prize in Idea and Innovation competition received a prize of ₹3,000. The contingent from TN, P & AN Directorate also stood first in line area competition and received a prize of ₹1.80 lakh. The State government also provided a prize of ₹2.40 lakh to 120 members of the contingent.
