CREDAI Visakhapatnam praises Union Budget 2025-26 as a visionary roadmap for infrastructure and urban growth in India.
The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) Visakhapatnam has lauded the Union Budget 2025-26, presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, as a ‘forward-thinking and visionary roadmap’ that reinforces the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and sustainable urban growth.
The CREDAI noted that the real estate sector had hoped for additional measures. These included greater incentives for affordable housing, an increase in the home loan interest exemption threshold (which they consider long-static), and a revision of the affordable housing definition based on dwelling unit size rather than a fixed ₹45 lakh valuation nationwide. CREDAI believes such measures would have further strengthened housing affordability and market stability.
Key highlights of the budget welcomed by the CREDAI include the ₹1 lakh crore Urban Challenge Fund, aimed at improving urban planning and development; the enhanced UDAN scheme for strengthened regional connectivity; the ₹15,000 crore SWAMIH Fund 2 to expedite stalled housing projects; and the allowance of benefits on two self-occupied properties without conditions, expected to encourage homeownership.
CREDAI Visakhapatnam Chairman K.S.R.K. Raju (Sai), president V. Dharmender, and Secretary V. Sreenu issued a joint statement praising the government’s proactive stance.
