Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge praises India's Constitution, emphasizing its inclusive nature and welfare schemes for vulnerable sections.
Highlighting the Constitution’s inclusive and progressive nature, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has said that the Constitution is the best in the world. It was the result of B.R. Ambedkar’s hard work, dedication and far-sightedness.
He was addressing a gathering after unfurling the tri-colour and inspecting the 76th Republic Day parade at the District Armed Reserved Police Grounds in Kalaburagi on Sunday.
Though the Constitution is described as “a bag of borrowings” as it incorporates features from different countries, including the United Kingdom (Parliamentary system), the United States (fundamental rights), Ireland’s (Directive Principles of State Policy), Australia’s (Concurrent List), Canada (federal structure) and the Soviet Union’s concept of social, economic and political justice, making it a blend of different systems rather than solely based on any one ideology, the Constitution has several salient features that distinguishes it from the Constitutions of the other countries, Mr. Kharge reiterated.
Describing the five guarantee schemes as the biggest-ever welfare measures for improving the economic conditions of the vulnerable sections of society, Mr. Kharge reiterated that the Congress’ model of development is inclusive and based on the principles of the Buddha, Basaveshwara and Dr. Ambedkar.
Under the Shakti scheme, 1.85 lakh women passengers are getting benefits every day in Kalaburagi district, while 10.57 crore women passengers have travelled on State-run buses till December last year.
