APCC president Y.S. Sharmila criticizes Governor's speech, questions government's promises and investments in Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y.S. Sharmila on Tuesday (February 25, 2025) said that Governor S. Abdul Nazeer’s speech in the joint session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature was ‘far from reality and deeply disappointing for the people of the State.’
“There was no clarity regarding implementation of the promises made by the TDP-led coalition government in the State. Even after eight months in power, there has been no clarity on the ‘Super Six schemes and other assurances such as the release of a job calendar,” Ms. Sharmila posted on social media platform X.
She said there was no truth in claims made in the Governor’s speech about ₹6.5 lakh crore investments coming to the State and creation of 4 lakh job opportunities. She said without clearing the pending dues of schemes such as Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement, claims on the restoration of education and health sectors were being made.
“Contrary to the government’s claim that farmers are prosperous they are facing heavy losses due to natural calamities and in the absence of fair price for farm produces,” Ms. Sharmila said.
Alleging that nearly 30 projects started under ‘Jalayagnam” initiative launched by her father and former Chief Minister of the undivided Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy have been languishing for decades, she said the ruling party had ‘no intention’ to complete them.
