Chief Minister M.K. Stalin praises women for setting Guinness World Record in Valli Kummi dance, emphasizing Dravidian government's support for women.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday congratulated the women who participated in a Valli Kummi dance at an event held in Coimbatore city.
“When we speak of women, it is always about achievements. And when it is about achievements, it is always about women. The Dravidian Model government is one for women – that is well known to all,” he said at the event.
The function, organised by the Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK), felicitated 16,000 women who had set a Guinness World Record by participating in the largest Valli Kummi performance in February 2024 in Perundurai. The performance was coordinated by the Kongunadu Kalai Kuzhu.
The Chief Minister said the performance reflected both artistic and cultural development and symbolised Tamil unity. “Art should serve as a catalyst for social progress and moral values,” he said.
On the KMDK general secretary and MLA E.R. Eswaran, the Chief Minister said, “Whether in the Assembly or among the people, he draws our attention through his arguments and speeches, always focusing on the welfare of the western region. Whatever he speaks, wherever he speaks, the welfare of the western region is his priority.”
The Chief Minister then presented mementos to dance teachers and handed over the Guinness World Record certificate to members of the Kongunadu Kalai Kuzhu.
