CEO fires over 900 employees over Zoom call in U.S.

An Indian-origin CEO of a U.S.-based homeownership company Vishal Garg has abruptly fired more than 900 employees, about 9% of its workforce, on a Zoom webinar, citing market efficiency, performance and productivity as the reasons behind the move.
Mr. Garg cited market efficiency, performance and productivity as the reason behind the firings, the report said.
“If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off,” he said on the call.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department.
