Cherlapalli Railway Terminal inauguration highlights public transport options, including TGSRTC buses from various locations, and cab fares.
The inauguration of Cherlapalli Railway Terminal on Monday (January 6, 2025) brings new focus to public transport connectivity for passengers. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) currently operates buses from Secunderabad and Mehdipatnam to the terminus, with officials confirming plans to introduce services from Uppal soon.
Buses from Secunderabad currently serve Platform 1, passing through Tarnaka, Habsiguda, Mallapur, Nacharam, and Ashoknagar. The proposed Uppal service will provide direct access to Platform 9.
The nearest Hyderabad Metro Rail station is Habsiguda, nearly 11 km away. The Uppal station is around 12 km away.
On Monday evening, online cab booking platforms showed that a ride to the Cherlapalli Railway Terminal would cost approximately ₹160–₹200 from Habsiguda Metro Station and ₹190–₹260 from Uppal Metro Station. For areas without metro connectivity, the fares were higher — ₹360 to ₹520 from Rajendranagar and around ₹490 from Medchal.
South Central Railway plans to run a few MMTS services starting from Cherlapally or passing through it.
