BRS leader Harish Rao accuses Telangana Congress Government of neglecting retired employees' benefits
Senior leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former minister T. Harish Rao has alleged that the Congress Government in Telangana is neglecting the employees who have retired from service since December 7, 2023 by delaying the settlement of their retirement benefits.
In a statement, Mr. Harish Rao said on Tuesday (February 4, 2025) that about 8,000 State government employees in different departments and cadres retired on superannuation of age since the Congress party came to power, but a majority of them were yet to get their retirement benefits as the State Government was delaying the settlement for the reasons better known to it.
Citing the example of a police officer who hanged his boots after putting in 30 years of service, the BRS leader said the retired official was facing serious health issues such as kidney-related and others. He was unable to get the treatment done in private hospitals as they were denying treatment on the health card issued by the government and he was also unable to get the treatment by paying money due to the delay in getting the retirement benefits.
