The “Blue Lagoon” star recalled a cruel remark she read online about herself, and her attitude about it was refreshing.
Brooke Shields seems to be enjoying the IDGAF season of her life.
The 59-year-old actor, known for 1978′s “Pretty Baby” and 1980′s “The Blue Lagoon” when she was a teen, visited “Good Morning America” on Monday to promote her new book, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old.” In the memoir, the former model describes her experience of aging “as she flips the script on the idea of what it means for a woman to grow older,” according to her publisher’s summary.
Midway through her “GMA” interview, Shields recalled an ironic remark a fan recently aimed at her while she was promoting her book.
“I was doing an Instagram Live the other day,” Shields began. “And one of the comments was, ‘I really wish you looked the way you used to.’”
But instead of being offended or seeking validation, she threw her head back and began to laugh.
