BPSC sends legal notice to Prashant Kishor over corruption allegations, demanding evidence within seven days.
Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has sent a legal notice to Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor with regard to the allegation levelled by him on the Commission.
The Commission has demanded evidence within seven days on the allegations of corruption levelled against the Commission by him and his team members. The notice is based on Mr. Kishor‘s statements of January 2, 3 and 6 and a YouTube clip of his statement has been attached.
While speaking to The Hindu BPSC secretary Satya Prakash Sharma said, “It was necessary to send him a legal notice because the kind of allegation he has levelled against the BPSC was unpardonable. Students of poor families take this exam and they struggle to clear it apart from many meritorious students. The kind of atmosphere he has created was sending the wrong message among the genuine candidates.”
BPSC has sent the legal notice through Patna High Court advocate Sanjay Singh who confirmed the development.
“Yes, on the behalf of my client (BPSC), I have sent the legal notice to Prashant Kishor on January 10, 2025. He has thrown the bundle of lies and baseless nasty allegations against BPSC which is a constitutional body without verifying and authenticating the same,”Mr. Singh said.
Earlier Mr. Kishor was sitting on an indefinite hunger strike seeking cancellation of Integrated 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) following alleged irregularities in the exam.
In the notice it is said that the allegation levelled by Mr. Kishor is bringing down the credibility, prestige and reputation of BPSC resulting into a situation of chaos.
