Capt. Brijesh Chowta emphasizes harnessing India's youth potential for sustainable economy growth, urging youth to act now.
The demographic dividend will not stay for a longer time. It is necessary to realise the potential of young civilians of the country at the earliest and harness it for building a sustainable economy of India, said Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Capt. Brijesh Chowta in Mangaluru on Thursday.
Inaugurating the National Youth Day programme at the Ramakrishna Mutt, Capt. Chowta said there is lot of talk about demographic dividend of India. “This will not remain forever. Some other country will have young population in the next a few years and we will have more elderly people. We have to be alert and realise our potential at the earliest.”
Because of sheer market size, the country will move from being the 5th largest to the 3rd largest economy. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, the next 25 years is truely ‘Amrit Kaal’ for the nation. Youth should work towards building sustainable economy of the country. “Bring back the focus and live fearlessly,” Capt. Chowta told the youth.
Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, Swami Muktidananda and Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Mutt Mangaluru Swami Jitakamananda also spoke. There were sessions for college students by Amit Amarnath, founder of Bengaluru-based ‘Youth for Parivartan’, and Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Ashram, Gadag, Swami Nirbhayananda Saraswati.
