Basavaraj Gurikar from Gadag district is the new national president of All-India Primary School Teachers’ Federation.
Basavaraj Gurikar of Gadag district has been selected as the national president of the All-India Primary School Teachers’ Federation. This is the first time a teacher from the State has secured the top post in the federation, said a press release.
Mr. Gurikar has served as president of the Karnataka State Teachers’ Association three times and also as the national working president.
Born at Hosahalli in Ron taluk of Gadag district, he has worked for the welfare of teachers for the last four decades.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
