Union Minister accuses Congress of promoting 'urban Naxals' in education sector, creating gun culture in Telangana.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday accused the ruling Congress party of trying to hand over the education sector to ‘urban Naxals’ and establish gun culture in Telangana.
“While the Narendra Modi government at the Centre wants to provide students with pens and shape them into great personalities, the Congress party is trying to insert urban Naxal ideologies into textbooks to create gun culture,” the Union Minister said.
He alleged that some urban Naxals were appointed as members of a panel to give suggestions on matters pertaining to the education sector in the State. “What is the rationale behind this move?” he asked.
He was speaking at a meeting organised by the TPUS (Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangam) to felicitate the recently elected MLCs Malka Komaraiah and Chinnamile Anji Reddy in Karimnagar on Sunday.
He lashed out at the Congress government, accusing it of keeping five Dearness Allowances (DAs) for government employees and teachers still pending. He said, “Employees’ and teachers’ pending bills amount to ₹8,000 crore. Retirement benefit dues stand at a whopping ₹11,000 crore.”
He alleged that a BRS leader was involved in fake currency notes printing at a printing press in Bidar of Karnataka in the past: “When Telangana police tried to shut down the printing press, they were pressured not to do so. The money distributed in the subsequent elections was all counterfeit.”

To make city bus drivers fall in line with traffic rules, the Mangaluru City police henceforth will begin registering FIRs against traffic violations under Section 281 (reckless driving) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said on Wednesday. So far, they were only imposing penalties for traffic violations.
