Former Union Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who is an advocate of green energy and eco-friendly alternatives, has exclusively been using an electric bike at his bungalow in Vizianagaram.
According to him, usage of electric bikes would prevent pollution as the bike consumes only three units of electricity for a travel of 100 km distance.
Mr. Ashok has undertaken several initiatives for setting up of solar panels in his house and government offices and the Vizianagaram municipal office. As chairperson of the Simhachalam temple, he was instrumental in the installation of solar panels near the temple.
TDP Vizianagaram city president Prasadula Lakshmi Prasad and other leaders said that they would follow in his footsteps and use electric bikes hereafter to create awareness on the importance of environment protection.

The Karnataka government has drafted a comprehensive master plan for the integrated development of Kukke Subrahmanya temple, the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department. The redevelopment initiative is estimated to cost around ₹254 crore and aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities for devotees.
