Arjun Kapoor shares cherished memories of childhood with father Boney Kapoor on film sets, recalling Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.
Actor Arjun Kapoor recently shared cherished memories of spending time with his father, filmmaker Boney Kapoor, during his childhood. Despite growing up largely in the care of his mother, Mona Shourie, Arjun fondly recalls the moments he spent with his father on film sets, especially during the production of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.
The 1993 film, produced by Boney Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik, featured a star-studded cast including Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Sridevi. Recalling those days, Arjun told Galatta India, “My entire life with my father was being on Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja set. Even by today’s standards, it is one of the biggest films we ever made. The film cost Rs 10 crore in 1992.”
Arjun also reminisced about Sridevi, whom he respectfully referred to as “Sridevi ma’am.” She married Boney Kapoor in 1996 and played a significant role in Arjun’s memories of the film. He shared fun anecdotes, including his fondness for a pigeon named Django, featured alongside his uncle Anil Kapoor in the movie.
In a separate interview with ABP Live, Boney Kapoor revealed the challenges of their relationship. At the time, he was married to Mona Kapoor, with whom he shared two children, Arjun and Anshula. “When I proposed to her, she didn’t speak to me for six months. She said, ‘You’re married with two kids, how can you talk to me like this?’” Boney recounted. Despite initial resistance, their bond grew, and they married in 1996.
