APSRTC bus driver Lovaraju suspended for dancing on duty, reinstated by HRD Minister Nara Lokesh after viral video incident.
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus driver from Tuni depot, Lovaraju, who was suspended for dancing to a song from Telugu film Devara while on duty, thanked HRD Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday (December 4) for revoking his suspension.
Mr. Lokesh intervened to have reinstated the driver. An outsourced driver, Mr. Lovaraju was suspended following an incident on October 24. While driving a bus from Routhulapudi to Tuni depot, he had to stop the vehicle as the road was blocked by a tractor carrying a load of logs.
During this wait, Mr. Lovaraju broke into a dance to a song from Telugu film Devara. A passenger captured the moment on video which went viral on social media.
The APSRTC authorities suspended Mr. Lovaraju for violating the workplace protocols. When this matter was brought to Mr. Lokesh’s notice, he assured that the suspension would be revoked and promised to meet Mr. Lovaraju in person.
The Minister met Mr. Lovaraju, who was accompanied by his family members. The driver thanked him for his timely intervention.
