BJP Tamil Nadu president criticizes State government for delaying publication of final list of police Sub-Inspectors, impacting aspirants.
BJP Tamil Nadu president K. Annamalai on Tuesday (February 18, 2025) alleged that the State government’s undue delay in publishing the complete details of candidates selected for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police, despite the directions of the Madras High Court, has shattered the dreams of youngsters who aspired to become police officers.
In a statement, Mr. Annamalai pointed out that the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) had conducted examinations for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police in 2023 and finalised the selection process in 2024. The list of candidates selected, along with their personal details including marks obtained by them in written test, interview and community, were published. However, a case had been filed in the Madras High Court alleging discrepancies in implementing communal reservation in the recruitment process. Later, based on the directions of the Madras High Court, the list was revised by excluding 41 candidates from the first list.
But the revised list published on October 3, 2024, had only the registration numbers of the selected candidates. There was no transparency on what basis the 41 candidates selected earlier were dropped in the second list, said Mr. Annamalai. He added that the Madras High Court on October 28, 2024 directed the TNUSRB to publish the revised list of candidates with details including their name, community and marks secured by them.
“Even after four months, the list was not published as directed by the Madras High Court. Why is there an undue delay by the DMK government in publishing the final list of candidates with all their details. The State government should publish the list and distribute appointment orders to the selected candidates at the earliest,” he added.
