Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has inaugurated a series of CNG and PNG projects of AG&P Pratham in Tirupati, Chittoor, Nellore, Annamayya, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai and Kadapa districts.
Mr. Naidu launched the projects in the presence of Ministers B.C. Janardhan Reddy (Roads and Buildings), A. Satya Prasad (Revenue), Member of Parliament (Chittoor) D. Prasada Rao, Chandragiri legislator P. Nani, Collector S. Venkateswar, and AG&P Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Abhilesh Gupta, at a programme here on Sunday.
Apart from inaugurating the industrial PNG supplies for Tirupati district and laying the stone for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) Skill Development Centre at Gajulamandyam, Mr. Naidu also laid a stone for Gas LCNG station in Nellore.
CNG-powered vehicles meant for solid waste collection were handed over to Tirupati’s Municipal Commissioner N. Mourya.
In his address, Mr. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh had the unique distinction of being the second largest producer of natural gas in India, thanks to the Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin.
“With the companies like AG&P Pratham building state-of-the-art infrastructure and bringing gas to our doorstep, we are ensuring that our natural gas resources are used right here to power our homes, industries and transport sectors, and provide the required impetus for economic development,” the Chief Minister said.
Thanking the Japanese delegation for being a part of the initiative, Mr. Naidu recalled the longstanding friendship with Japan, which, he said, had resulted in strong economic and diplomatic ties in various sectors, including energy. “I am sure Andhra Pradesh will lead the way towards a net-zero economy,” he asserted.
